Publishers Clearing House Winner!

This time of year is so magical.

The costumes, the candy, the weather changing there is nothing really like it.

Most of all I was excited for this years {Trunk or Treat}.

I have never been part of one before and I was excited to pass out candy.

The only thing that concerned me was that Josh and I did not have our costumes yet.

We had no idea what we were going to be…until Thursday.

Josh came in and had figured it out.

He had the great idea

of being Ed McMahon and the contest winner of the Publishers Clearing House.

It was a hit.

Josh and I made a big check, I put curlers in my hair (something I have not done in years!) and we headed off to the ward party.

It was a great evening full of fun!!

Happy Halloween everyone :)

I won. Too bad I cant really cash this in :)

Hahaha very cute! And yes, if we could only cash in the fake checks we make! Derek and I would be rich! : ) I loved your costumes, you guys were great.

My hubby and I are doing that costume this year--he's 6'5" stocky, so we thought it would be funny if he was the woman with curlers, and I the man in the suit with the check. My question is: how did you make the big check? Is there a template out there?

I know this blog is from 2010, but I am trying to make this check. Would you mind sharing how you made it? You guys look awesome! Thanks!

Christina, we just did this last weekend! Totally won best costume award. My hubby is a heavy 6'5" so seeing him in an old lady nightgown (got that on Amazon) with a hideous wig/ curlers was hilarious! He acted the part all night long. He got to the party about 10 minutes before me. Then I came in with balloons and the check calling out for a Mrs. Vranes. When he saw me he put on quite the show, jumping up and down, clasping his heart etc. So funny. Anyway, we got the check printed at a local Printers. Apparently they do these big checks all the time! It cost about $30. 60" wide. Worth me not having to make one myself!

It's very important that you destroy this costume immediately if you haven't done so already. Destroy the check. You are in grave danger. The reality that you knew no longer exists. Ed McMahon never worked for Publisher's Clearing House in this reality.
