Dentist

I know there are probably some moms out there who think I'm crazy for taking Evelyn to the Dentist. Well we had to for insurance reasons.  Plus it was something fun and new to do :)  Evelyn had a great time at the beginning and loved the assistants, but not so much after that.  She has great teeth that are all coming in A-OK!  To top it all off she got to pick a treat/toy from the treasure box.  She loved it!

Chocolate Anyone?

One of my favorite things as a kid was getting to lick the beaters when my mom was making any kind of treat.   I knew that Evelyn would likewise love this little tradition.  This was her first beater filled with chocolate frosting.  We were making a cake for Josh's last day of medical school.  I think the pictures can speak for themselves.

Fashionista

I don't know where Evie got it but she is a fashionista.  She loves jewelry, bags, shoes and clothes with a passion.  Sometimes I like to take her clothes shopping just to see her excitement.  She will go over to the racks and rub her hands on the clothes with the biggest grin.  Josh better look out it probably will only get worse as she gets older.

I swear I didn't teach her to hold the bag in the fold of her arm.  She just started doing it :)

Austrian Dress

The story behind this cute dress starts back when my dad was on his mission.  He served a mission in Germany and had a wonderful companion Elder Brunner from Austria.   After their missions they remained close friends.  When my parents had my sister they sent this dress over from Austria.  I love this dress and Evelyn looks so cute in it.  Im so happy that my parents kept so many cute things from my childhood that Evie could have today.  And I'm thrilled to say that my family and the Brunner family are still close to this day.

Lounging Around

I love these pictures below because it shows just how much Evie loves chairs.  Any kind and any place.  If there is a fun place to sit she will go and explore.  In the black and white photo she hopped up on the ottoman and basically said "mom please scratch my back"  I love this little girl!

First Swim of the Year

Evelyn and I live for being outside.  We have to take at least one outing a day or we go a little crazy.  We were able to join some of our friends by the pool for the first swim of the summer.  Thanks to El Paso the first swim happens lots earlier in the year (one of the things I miss).  Evelyn loved the water but only wanted to swim if she was being held close to me.  She loved to kick her feet and attempt to blow bubbles (drink the water) in the water.

Rare Event

This never happens!  Evelyn is usually picky about where she falls asleep.  It is either in the car or in her crib NEVER just sitting on the couch.  I had to take a quick pic to document this rare event!

Happy Easter

Easter 2014 was a lot of fun.  It was going to be Evelyn's first easter egg hunt.  I knew she would not understand the finer points of the hunt, but she sure loved picking up the 2 eggs she found.  She scored with 2 eggs full of chocolate!  On Saturday morning, before the ward activity, I set up a small scavenger hunt for Josh and Evelyn.  They found 3 eggs with clues that finally led them back to the house for a fun surprise.  It was a fun day and an even better Sunday where we could remember our Savior and the love he has for us.

Treasure

We squeezed poor Jonah and Evelyn into one swing.  They liked it for a few minutes :)  I sure miss that cute family.

First find

CHOCOLATE

She had such a great time at church that she fell asleep on the way home.

This is the only good picture I could get of Evelyn in her cute Easter Dress.

26th Birthday

I had a wonderful 26th birthday.  It was a fun day, especially since Josh requested that day off from school.  It was the best birthday present I could have asked for :)  Some of my sweet friends took me to the most amazing Mexican restaurant to celebrate.  We started off eating dinner at L and J and dessert at Chilies.  It was a fun night full of a lot of laughs and calories!

And yes Sam and I are wearing the same shirt :)

The Girly Jumper

So my mom and dad saved a lot of the clothes Ceri, Skyler and I wore as kids.  In the pile I found this adorable gem.  Josh came home from school and asked where the cute jumper came from and I told him it was Skyler's.  The look on his face said everything.  Josh thought the jumper was a little girly.  It is hard to picture it on a boy when such a darling girl is wearing it.

I Blame the Move

Josh, Evelyn and i have made the big move to Utah :)  We were lucky enough to stay in St. George for about a month, unfortunately the blog got way behind!  I blame the move.  We are finally here and  the internet was turned on yesterday!  Let the updating begin...there is quite a bit.

One of the things I miss most about El Paso is the indoor play area at the mall.  Evelyn and I would go there almost everyday to play.  Especially when it was soooo windy outside.
