Evie-isms

Im finally back to blogging.  I blame moving...again.  We are now full time Minnesota residents.  I still have lots of sad feelings leaving behind friends and family, but am excited about our new life here.  Evelyn has changed so much these last few months and I hope I can remember it all.

1) For the first 4-5 days after moving she kept asking for grandma and to go home.  Broke my heart every time she would look at me and ask to see Livy or Jude.
2) She still doesn't like fireworks.  They absolutely terrify her.  In her words they are too "HOT".
3) She loves to play the bye bye game on my phone.  Sometimes it is the only way we can go grocery shopping.
4) Curios George is still her favorite show, but we have now added Little Einsteins to our favorites list.
5) She is out of her high chair and sits at the table like a big girl.  When did that happen!!!
6) She has made great strides in behaving.  She no longer hits, or pushes.  I can't tell you how happy it makes my heart feel when she plays kindly, shares and says hi to new friends.
7) She calls all her friends nani.
8) She has some sticker packets that create scenes and she loves to play with them.  Now I wish she could pull the stickers off herself.
9) She has learned to say thank you.
10) When she wakes up in the morning she calls for mommy.  There are mornings I wish she would call for daddy, but ill take her early morning mommy cuddles as long as I can.
11) She can form little sentences now.
12) She is obsessed with watches for some reason.
13) I love it when she helps me in the kitchen.  She is so proud of herself when she gets to do something.  Her favorite is to add spices to anything and everything.

I know I have missed so much.  Ugh, I hate having such a large distance between posts.  We sure do love this little girl of ours!!

Utah April 2015

This year Josh had 3 weeks off.  Yes 3 whole weeks.  2 of the weeks we had planned, but his last and final one we got to spend in St. George.  I love going to St. George with him.  We get to bike, hike, enjoy the sunshine and spend all day together.  This year more than any other year I was looking forward to having Josh all to myself with no interruptions from the hospital.

I love this picture of Josh and Evelyn.  They are all ready and excited to hit the road.  Evelyn is a pro at traveling, but for some reason she wasn't a fan of this particular ride.  We had to pull over in Parawon and let her get out.  It took lots of bribes and her own "spicy drink" to get her back in the car.

Little miss fashionista getting ready for our bike ride.

St. George has the best recration for families.  I could live at their splash pad and so could Evelyn.

While we were there my Dads mission companion was stopping through town.  Wolfe and his darling wife are from Austria, so we don't get to see them much.  We had a great breakfast with them before they headed to SLC for Conference.
They even brought me REAL European chocolate for my birthday.  They are the best!!

Soaking up the sun with Grandma.

Josh wanted to have a family campout in the front yard.  I was a little skeptical about sleeping on the ground in a 2 man tent with 3 people, but we did it anyway.  We all had bets on how long we would actually last.  I lost I went inside at around 5:30.  Josh and E made it all night.

Happy Birhtday Dave.  We decorated his car for his big day.

Her latest thing is to get to the top of the slide and hang there for a few swings before going down.

Josh and I were a little overzealous.

Our friends Hal and Nyla just purchased a new razor and offered it to Josh and I for a morning.  We had a great time heading out to the dessert.  Evelyn wasn't too sure about it at first, but enjoyed it at the end.  So much that she feel asleep on the bumpy road back to the car...how does that happen.

My geologist.  She has such a strong love of rocks, and nature.

At the end of our trip my dads mission companion Wolfe and his wife came into town.  They are from Austria and were headed to SLC for conference.  I love seeing this family.  They have become more like close, immediate family rather than just friends.  The morning after they arrived it was my birthday so we all headed out for a celebratory breakfast.

The Brunners bring the best gifts.

We didn't want to leave the warm, sunny weather!  We had a blast.

Evie-isms

1) She has developed quite the vocabulary.  It is fun to see what new words she will come up with.
2) When she passes by Josh's hospital she says "Hi daddy," and waves.
3) When she goes to bed she likes to pull up her shirt and put her silky blanket on her skin.
4) She will give you a cute little cheer.  She says, while throwing her hands up, "Go daddy Go" or anyone else she feels needs a good pick me up.
5) She has decided she no longer likes bananas.
6) She has started watching Aristocats and loves it.  It is funny to watch her pretend to be a cat through the movie.
7) She likes to help me do the laundry.
8) She is still a mommas girl.
9) I love watching a movie with her.  She will come and snuggle up close.
10) She will eat an apple straight through core and everything.
11) She lives for being outside, which has been hard with all the rain we have had the last few weeks.
12) The only books she will read right now are princess books.

The Smith Family

I love this family!
When I married Josh I was lucky enough to be married into his wonderful family.
The Smiths have always treated me like I was one of their own.
They have always looked out for my family, they love Evelyn, and they are amazing bakers :)  I wouldn't trade them for the world.
So happy I was able to take their pictures this past week.  It was raining so hard, but the shoot was a lot of fun, especially watching Evelyn jump/swim in the puddles!

Evie-isms

1) She has begun to say more then one word at a time, and can pick up on words much quicker.  We have added grandma, giraffe, where _____ go,  lunch, white, and nice.
2) She will go through a list of names and things saying that they are "nice".  Money nice, daddy nice, puppy nice etc.  I love it!
3) She has not been a great eater this week.  She really just wants to drink chocolate milk and eat fruits.  It could be worse I guess.
4) She has loved watching George lately.  She asks for him constantly, and I have had to restrict watching it to only certain times.
5) She can still go from 0 to 60 in a nano second.  Sometimes to get her to calm down I have to do something she didn't see coming.  The latest one happened at Pizza Factory where I put an ice cube down her shirt.  She thought that was pretty funny and cold.
6) She still loves to color and has discovered the joy of sidewalk chalk.
7) The last week we were in California so Evelyn was sleeping with me.  She is the BEST cuddler.  She stays right next to you the entire time.  When you wake up in the morning she greets you with the sweetest look and a little "Hi."
8) She can identify and recognizes the letter B.
9) At the end of the prayer instead of saying amen she says a-mommy.

Lyons Family

These cute people are my family!  They are so funny, sweet, and so kind.  I have relied on Mel a lot since moving to SLC.  I love that Evelyn has been able to build a relationship with them.  We are all really going to miss them when we move!

Evie-isms

1) She finally stayed in nursery all by herself!  This is huge.  It has been so long since I was able to go to Sunday School or RS.  When I went to pick her up she was having so much fun that she asked me to leave haha.
2) When she finds ants outside she tells them night night and then tries to smash them.
3) She has become my sous chef.  Her favorite thing to do is add the salt and pepper.  She can't say "salt and pepper" yet, but she motions her arms as if she were shaking them.
4) Grandma Janet gave her some yellow shoes that she is obsessed with.
5) She asks to watch "George and Hat"  She can't say "The Man with the Yellow Hat", so she has shortened it to just hat.
6) She loves to find and pick up rocks, and if you add throwing them into water she will be entertained for hours.
7) She got to FaceTime with her new cousin Jayde this week.  She loved the "baby" and tried really hard to hold her through the computer.  Poor girl doesn't quite understand the communicating via the internet thing.
